To take steps to fulfill your purpose will cost you something. One of my steps is to write a book on conflict management. I started last summer and dinked around all fall and got serious after the first of the year. My goal is to be ready for print by Aug. 1. This week I am taking the week to go away and write. I’ll work about 10-12 hours each day to get the first draft finished before I go home. The bright side is I am at the beach (it’s raining and cold) so I can do it without interruptions and I have a great view. The price? A week away from home and my wife.
To me that is a great price. I like home. I like my wife.
Are you willing to pay a price to achieve your purposes? Sure you are, that is not the real question. The real question is how big of a price are you be willing to pay? We all have our limits. I am highly motivated to achieve my goals so right now so my willingness to pay a high price is great.
Here is the question I want you to stop and think about for 1 minute before you hurry off to your next blog or activity. What would you gain in the next month if you doubled your commitment to pay the necessary price? Now go do it.
Great insight! And I’m glad to hear you like your wife.
